MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Greetings Fellow Cougars,

As we kick off an exciting month, we hope that you are planning to participate in our upcoming Alumni Association activities.  Alumni Weekend will be held October 10-12, 2014. For details go to the Alunmi Events page

In our efforts to support Northside High School, our alma mater the Alumni Association and the Strategic Planning Committee is continuously working the school administration and external organization’s to develop meaningful partnerships.  Our goal is to support the students that attend NorthSide by providing scholarships and other resources for the school.  We are working with our adopter Bethlehem Baptist Church, Regional One Health, Life Enhancement, Well-Child Clinic to provide mentoring, services to help the students and their families to enhance their opportunity for greater success.

In order for the work we are doing to continue, we need the support of ALL alumni to help us move forward.  We seek to have a great involvement by the alumni of NorthSide High School.  Get Involved And Make A Difference!

Northside High School has a Chorus now!!!!!!   The students are in need of uniforms. If you or your alumni class is interested in making a donation, contact jchella@yahoo.com


Northside High School Alumni Association Weekend Celebration
It has been 46 years since Northside High School opened it’s doors.  Graduates of Northside High School  was well represented to demonstrate its “Cougar Pride” when alumni came together for the Alumni Association Weekend.
This year’s theme was “Bridge To Our Past, Present And Future”.  The Association began the weekend of events at Previe’ restaurant on Friday night for a Mix & Mingle, Saturday an Orange and White Ball was held at the Holiday Inn University of Memphis.  The featured guest was Coach Marion Brewer.  Coach Brewer was basketball coach at Northside from 1969-1985.  The former students of Northside High School were elated to have him attend this event.
The weekend of events climaxed with a Gospel Extravaganza that was held at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Mistress of Ceremonies was Anchor, News Channel 3 Mrs. April Thompson Larsha,  were the audience was blessed with great gospel music by alumni vocalist such as; Arletta Burse,  Debra Manning Thomas, L’Tonja Henderson.  Praise Team Dancers from Bethlehem performed and Rev. Nadolyn Woody Dunigan who charged the alumni and guest audience  in her Reflection and Charge to Remember, Connect and Commit to getting involved to ensure the community of North Memphis remains a viable community and the doors of  Northside High School remain open.
